John enjoys staying active whether it be walks at Sibley Park or participating in activities with Harry Meyering and LEEP. He also enjoys Wii Game Night, many of the other activities offered by Harry Meyering and is often found helping the activities coordinator with set up and cleanup. John prides himself on living a healthy life. He eats well and exercises regularly. John also likes looking his best and taking care of himself. His favorite home cooked meals are fish, meatballs, chicken, pork chops and macaroni and cheese. He enjoys watching golf and baseball or singing and dancing to country music, especially Keith Urban.

John comes from a family of six which includes two brothers and three sisters. John retired from his job working in the kitchen at South Central College in 2016. He has traveled to California and would someday like to go to New York City and see Ground Zero.
